Ep 4: The Gift of Cancer with Carmelina Baccari
What does gratitude mean to you?
In this episode of She Starts Now, I sat down with Carmelina Baccari to talk about her journey with cancer and how she uses this experience to inspire others to live lives of gratitude.
Carmelina Baccari is, first of all, one of the most kind, brave, joyful, artistic, and beautiful-hearted women you’ll ever meet. And, she’s a Cancer Warrior. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, she embarked on a courageous journey of healing and personal expression that not only inspired her to keep moving forward, it inspired others to evaluate the role of gratitude in their lives.
Her recovery led to her becoming a certified paramedical pigmentation specialist focusing on areola restoration through a give-back initiative called Procedures for a Positive Purpose and along with her business partner Kacie, - known as the Nipple Sisters - they’re changing the way hundreds of women look at themselves in the mirror with a new sense of confidence.
Her journey has been featured in various media outlets such as Avenue and Elle Magazine, CTV news, and on the Marilyn Dennis show and I’m so happy to have her here with us today to share her story.
In This Episode, We Discuss:
What collaboration over competition means to Carmelina
Tips for tackling envy or jealousy
How cancer changed the way Carmelina interpreted her emotions
The importance of listening to your intuition
Tapping to release stored emotions
Why she views cancer as a gift
How Carmelina helps cancer warrior patients
How Carmelina lives life to the fullest
I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Carmelina! I find her so incredibly inspiring. She approaches everything with so much joy and gratitude and I hope it inspires you to have more gratitude in your day-to-day life as well.
