Today, I will not write a blog entry.
I will not feel guilty about not writing one last week either.
I will not succumb to the self-imposed pressure that I must follow the “write one blog post each week” rule.
I will not make up stories that my readers & my friends are impatiently waiting for my blog to appear in their inbox (or that they are judging me or labelling me as a “lazy writer”).
I will honour that my wonderful life has been very “full” over the last few weeks and that sometimes things will need to go undone.
Blogs will go unwritten.
Laundry will pile up.
Dishes will stay dirty.
Emails will not be responded to within 24 hours.
And that’s okay.
Today, I will not write a blog entry.
I will sit in the car with my son as he practices parallel parking for….for three hours.
I will bake berry muffins.
I will get into my pyjamas after dinner and read a book.
I will make popcorn and watch the Grammy Awards (RIP Whitney Houston).
Today, I will not write a blog.
And that’s okay.
I invite you to let go of all the guilt associated with the things you think you should be doing.
Let it all go. Make popcorn. Connect with family. Put on an old Whitney Houston album and dance…
