I Am Manifesto

I AM NOT AFRAID….I was born to do this.

~ Joan of Arc

I am a Woman

I am a Goddess. I am a Diva.

I have a soft side. I have a sassy side.

I meditate and practice yoga  (but not as often as you may think).

I run and have pole danced (for fun, not for money).

I laugh (hard).  I cry (easily).

I drink green smoothies but also enjoy a really great bourbon  (one ice cube).

I adore travel yet love the soothing comforts of my home.

I’ve chanted mantras in India and shaken my thang to hip hop in Vegas.

I own a pair of bronze Birkenstocks. They sit right next to my 4 inch stilettos.

I have drawers full of Lululemon and Prana (not to be mistaken for Prada) but feel most feminine in my DVF little black dress.

There are many layers to me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I believe that life is an adventure and the world is meant to be explored.

I’m not a big fan of small talk.  As far as I know, nothing great was ever created by complaining about the weather or gossiping about others.

Show me who you really are—the dark, the light, the Divine. That’s what turns me on.

I am a Mother

I gave birth to my son when I was 19 years old and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. He is my rock, keeps me grounded and life is more beautiful because of him. To anyone who is or has been a teenage mother, I give you more respect than you can imagine. It takes a lot of strength and courage, and it is entirely worth it.

I am a Daughter

My parents have been married for 44 years and they still hug and kiss sweetly.  I love them more than words could ever express. They’ve always told me that I could do whatever I wanted in life and so, I listened (much to their chagrin at times).  I was an adventurous teenager who explored everything in life. My mother attends every retreat I host and feeds the participants with her nourishing food made from pure Love.

I am a Sister

My brother is an amazing man and father with a huge warm heart. I don’t think he realizes just how much I love him (and that I forgive him for throwing a cribbage board at me when we were young).  He’s funny, generous and for those who know him – yes, he’s quite handsome (don’t tell him that though).

I am a Friend

I don’t have many close friends, but the ones I do have know that they are loved unconditionally. Even when I go MIA once in a while, they know I haven’t forgotten them and understand that I will always come back. I’m just out there exploring the world for a bit.

I am French Canadian

French is my first language and I’m grateful for the ability to speak it. I grew up in Ile Des Chenes, Manitoba—a small town just outside of Winnipeg. The population at that time was around 1100 and I was related to most of them.  The main street in Ile Des Chenes is named after our family—Rue Dumaine. My ancestry extends to France and Belgium.  There’s an Avenue Dumaine in Paris which I made sure to take a stroll down when I was there in 2010. There’s also a Dumaine Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans—I have yet to walk this street, but I will – this I know.

I am a Coach & Transformational Guide

I created a system called The Yoga Code Life Coaching and  use the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy to help women get unstuck in their lives. Once unstuck, I guide them to creating the life they were meant to live – big, bold and beautiful.  Low on drama, high on Love.

I am a Visionary Entrepreneur

I create and partner with unique companies and visionaries whose mission is to bring a little more consciousness onto our planet. Entrepreneurship, branding and marketing are in my blood and I feel fortunate to be able to use these innate talents to serve the world. My past ventures include founding and launching Stillness Room which soon led to strategic partnerships with Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra (AKA: The Deepster).  The Yoga Code is my current baby and I’m nurturing it with all of my heart. I feel blessed to never feel like I’m “working.” To me, it’s all just “living”.

I am a Teacher

Teaching yoga and The Yoga Code™  give me the opportunity to spread a little more love into the world. I teach my students to take time for stillness every day while they listen to the wisdom of their inner guidance. As I inspire them to find their brilliance, it inspires me to fulfill my own.

I am a Writer

I wrote my first book when I was 6—it was bound with pink yarn. Then came the journaling, something I have done throughout my life. And now I’m on to blogging, which is just the start of my writing adventure.  The Yoga Code book is in the works. More will follow.

I am a Speaker

Give me a room full of people and the opportunity to inspire them and I’ll be in my glory. In grade three, I was the emcee for my school’s Christmas concert and according to my mother, they had to pry the microphone out of my hands! So if you book me for your next event, I promise to deliver an experience your audience will remember for a lifetime.  Learn more here

I am an Aquarian

I was born on February 2nd, Groundhog Day. My aunt still calls me every year on my birthday to ask if I’ve seen my shadow. I’m kind of quirky, strangely serious and hugely passionate. I’m honest and loyal, independent and inventive. I’m most happy when creating different, unique or original things. I’m a risk taker and will go all out to make things possible.

I am a Student

As a student of life, I’m always learning, always growing. I love to explore and expand the capabilities of my mind. My bookshelves are lined with books on spirituality, entrepreneurship, philosophy, design, fashion, poetry, and travel. Life is meant to be lived. Drink it up.

I am a Truth Seeker

I know when something isn’t right. I feel it deep within every cell in my body, and I’m not afraid to speak up about it—even if it ticks a few people off. Over the years, I’ve learned that I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not, and  – that being true to myself is always better myself is always way better than good enough (and it’s a lot more fun!).

I am a Humanitarian

I care. About People. About Justice. About Equality. About Freedom. I deeply admire instigators who stand up for a cause. My high school journalism project was on Nelson Mandela which prompted my desire to move to Africa when I was 17 (but was talked out of it).

I am a Curious Creature

I wanted to be a journalist when I was young (and still fantasize about going back to school for this). I am fascinated with people and the unusual, and I love documentaries that dig deep and expose the truth.

I am a Wandering Soul

I love to explore and believe I was a gypsy in a previous life. My new passion, however, is solo travel. There’s something incredibly liberating about stomping on new ground with only Me, Myself and I. In addition to exploring new places, I absolutely love New York City and Paris. Italy has been recently added to my travel radar.

I am a Bliss Creator

If anything I have ever done, said or written has inspired you to step into your brilliance or has brought a little more bliss into your life, then I have fulfilled my purpose. Thank you for the opportunity, I consider it a privilege and an honour.
