I AM NOT AFRAID….I was born to do this.
~ Joan of Arc
I am a Woman
I am a Goddess. I am a Diva. I have a soft side. I have a sassy side. I meditate and practice yoga. I laugh (hard). I cry (easily). I sip chai and green tea. I admire the occasional glass of red wine. I love to sip extra-hot almond milk lattes. I’ve chanted mantras in India and danced to hip hop in Vegas. I own a pair of Birkenstocks and they sit right next to my 4 inch stilettos. I’m vegetarian but not quite vegan.
I’m not a big fan of small talk. As far as I know, nothing great was ever created by complaining about the weather or gossiping about others.
Show me who you really are – the dark, the light, the Divine. That’s what turns me on.
I am a Mother
I had my son when I was 19 years old and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. He is my rock and keeps me grounded. If you or anyone you know is or has been a teenaged mother, I give you more respect than you can imagine. Life will be more beautiful for this blessing, I promise.
I am a Daughter
My parents have been married for 41 years and they still hug and kiss – frequently. I love them more than any words could ever express. They always told me that I could do whatever I want in life, so I listened to them. I was an adventurous teenager who explored everything in life (and I do mean everything). I’m sure my parents thought I wouldn’t live past 20.
I am a Sister
My brother is an amazing man and father with a huge warm heart. I don’t think he realizes just how much I love him (and that I forgive him for throwing a cribbage board at me when we were young).
I am a Friend
I don’t have many close friends, but the ones I do have know that they are loved unconditionally – even if I seem to go MIA once in a while. I haven’t left you, I’m just out there exploring the world. You know I always come back.
I am French Canadian
French is my first language and I’m so grateful that I can speak it. My ancestry has roots in France & Belgium. I grew up in Ile Des Chenes, Manitoba – a small town just outside of Winnipeg. Population at that time was around 1100 people and I was related to most of them. The main street in town is named after our family – Rue Dumaine which I think is kinda cool. There’s also an Avenue Dumaine in Paris which I strolled down when I was there in 2010. I have still to stroll down Dumaine Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
I am an Aquarian
I was born on February 2nd, Groundhog Day. My aunt still calls me every year on my birthday to ask if I’ve seen my shadow. I’m kind of quirky, strangely serious and hugely passionate. I’m honest and loyal, independent and inventive. I’m most happy when creating different, unique or original things. I’m a risk taker and will go all out to make things possible.
I am a Visionary Entrepreneur
I create and partner with unique companies and visionaries whose mission is to bring a little more consciousness onto our planet. Entrepreneurship, branding and marketing is in my blood and I feel fortunate to be able to use these innate talents to serve the world. My current ventures are Stillness Room and The Yoga Code.
I am a Coach
My modality is called Yoga Inspired Life Coaching – which contains 3 of my favorite words: Yoga. Inspired. Life. This is the kind of life I try to live every glorious day and it would be my honour to help you live this way too. A life that is free from the drama of stress and worry and full of joy and peace.
I am a Teacher
Teaching yoga and The Yoga Code workshop is my opportunity to spread a little more love into the world. I teach my students to take time for stillness every day while they listen to the wisdom of their inner guidance. As I inspire them to find their brilliance it inspires me to fulfill my own. I currently teach yoga in Calgary.
I am a Writer
I wrote my first book when I was 6. It was bound with pink yarn. I kept a journal throughout my life, although some of the pages have been ripped out. Journalism and Poetry were my favorite subjects in school. My Blog is just the start of my writing adventure. Some day I will write for Elephant Journal, Finer Minds and The Huffington Post (are you reading this, Universe?). Books will follow.
I am a Student
As a student of life, I am always learning, always growing. I love to explore and expand the capabilities of my mind. When I recently ran out of space on my three book shelves I decided to get a Kindle (love it). I’m currently working to obtain my Raw Nutrition Certification with David Wolfe because I’m fascinated by how we can directly manipulate our level of intelligence, consciousness and intuition by our food choices.
I am a Truth Seeker
I know when something isn’t right. I feel it deep within every cell in my body, and I’m not afraid to speak up about it – even if it ticks a few people off. I’ve learned that I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not – that being myself is always way better than good enough (and it’s a lot more fun!).
I am a Humanitarian
I care. About People. About Justice. About Equality. About Freedom. I deeply admire instigators who stand up for a cause. My high school journalism project was on Nelson Mandela and I still admire this man deeply today.
I am a Curious Creature
I wanted to be a journalist when I was young (and still fantasize about going back to school for this). I am fascinated with people and the unusual. I love documentaries that dig deep and expose the truth.
I am a Wandering Soul
I love to explore and believe I was a gypsy in a previous life. Solo travel is my new passion. There is something incredibly liberating about stomping on new grounds with only Me, Myself and I. I absolutely love New York City and am planning another adventure to India soon.
I am a Bliss Creator
If anything I have ever done, said or written has inspired you to step into your brilliance or has brought a little more bliss into your life, then I have fulfilled my purpose. Thank you for the opportunity – I consider it a privilege and an honour.
